Dr. Tsai earned a Master of Science in Nutrition from Columbia University and is passionate about nutrition’s role in preventing and managing cardiovascular disease and heart failure. She completed her Internal Medicine and chief residency at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, followed by a Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at Scripps Clinic in San Diego, during which she served as a chief cardiology fellow. She then pursued subspecialty fellowship training in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology at Vanderbilt.
Before joining Pacific Heart Institute, Dr. Tsai served on the faculty of Vanderbilt’s Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology program, one of the world’s largest heart transplant programs. She has dedicated eQorts to the development of various non-invasive hemodynamic monitors, the analysis of microRNA levels in heart transplant patients with rejection or infection, and the use of alternative anticoagulants in LVAD patients. She has published in several peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Dr. Tsai truly believes that a cardiologist’s role is to meet patients where they are and to support them throughout their health journey. She strives to build trusting relationships with patients and their families and finds meaning and joy in being her patient’s advocate.
