aaron f. grober, MD, FACC
Aaron F. Grober, MD, is a board-certified general and interventional cardiologist specializing in complex and high-risk coronary interventions, cardiogenic shock, and catheter-based treatments for pulmonary embolism and deep vein thrombosis. His expertise extends to heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, and preventive cardiology.
Dr. Grober earned his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Vassar College, where he also studied drama, and received his medical degree with honors from Dartmouth. He completed his internal medicine residency at Stanford University before joining the University of California, San Francisco as a hospitalist on the Advanced Heart Failure Service, caring for patients with complex cardiovascular needs. He then remained at UCSF for fellowship training in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.
Before joining Pacific Heart Institute, Dr. Grober spent three years in practice in Austin, Texas, where he became known among patients, colleagues, and staff for clear communication, thoughtful decision-making, and a calm presence in high-pressure clinical situations.
Originally from the New York metropolitan area, Dr. Grober brings a distinctive background in the performing arts to medicine. His early training in theater continues to shape his approach to patient care, which centers on careful listening, shared decision-making, and helping patients feel informed, respected, and actively involved in developing individualized treatment plans.
Dr. Grober has published peer-reviewed research in electrocardiography, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, percutaneous coronary intervention, and echocardiography. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and was selected to the Texas Super Doctors Rising Stars list in 2024, 2025, and 2026.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Grober enjoys theater, live music, karaoke, exploring California, and spending time with his family and his two dogs, Lucy and Doobu.
