TelEhealth zoom sessions protect patient privacy

by providence caregiver news

The increase in virtual work spaces has brought Zoom to the forefront. More recently, Zoom has been in the news for privacy and data-related concerns as well as Zoom-bombing, a phenomenon where Zoom meetings are "bombed" by hackers and pranksters with inappropriate audio or visual content. Providence St. Joseph Health is aware of these potential risks and has implemented important safeguards to protect sessions provided by Telehealth, or video visits between patients and providers. The PSJH Zoom portal is not impacted by these security risks or privacy concerns at this time. The Telehealth and Information Security teams are continuing to monitor Zoom for any identified issues.
